Conferences

Steve reserves more calendar dates for conferences than any other venue in which he works as a speaker because of his belief that they are a tremendous form of professional development and renewal for teachers. Steve does not accept conference appearances where he is not keynoting a general session or meal function.

As a part of his conference package, Steve provides additional workshop presentations for conference participants in addition to the keynote. He also appears at author teas, readings of new manuscripts, poetry olios, or other special events related to the conference at the request of the conference chair.

Steve most frequently appears at library, reading, English, reading recovery, children’s literature, and young author conferences; however, he is comfortable and prepared to speak to a wide range of additional audiences within and outside of the educational arena.
